Overview
Diploma in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery (DRMS) is a popular program aimed to develop clinical knowledge, research skills and clinical skills in the field of Reproductive Medicine and assisted conception. This program is delivered by Academy of Reproductive Medicine and Surgery with collaboration of fertility centre at Birmingham Women’s NHS Hospital, Birmingham UK.
This program is designed to be a comprehensive program to develop a competent clinician who can deliver safe, effective and evidence based clinical care to all patients seeking fertility treatment across the world. We ensure high quality teaching, competency-based logbook, and workplace-based assessments to achieve this objective.

Discuss and understand the surgical skills appropriate for a subspecialist in reproductive surgery.

Ability to counsel patients sensitively about the options available andrespect patient confidentiality.

Ability to explain clearly and openly about treatments, complications, and adverse effects of drug treatment.

Ability to interpret all investigations and evaluate diagnostic procedures.

Ability to understand the validity of diagnostic tests, variability, and reliability criteria

Ability to formulate and implement fertility treatment management plan and modify if necessary.

Ability to liaise effectively with colleagues in other disciplines (e.g. andrologists, endocrinologists, IVF team and urologist).

Eligibility
Essential criteria

MBBS or MBCHB qualification with full registration to practice in the course country
-
Recognized post graduate qualification including MS or MD or Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
-
Work experience in obstetrics and gynaecology for at least two years
-
Opportunity to work clinically at approved assisted conception facility
English language requirement

The program is taught and assessed in English language.

Oral exam
One oral exam will be held at the end of the program. The candidate passes through four sessions each has a board of two teachers.

Pass/Fail criteria
In all written, clinical, and oral exams the pass /fail limits will be defined using a formal standard-setting process.

Duration
The duration of the program is Minimum 6 months and a maximum of one year.
The DRMS program is competency and skill-based program. It is built on the successful achievement of clinical competency and knowledge evidenced by logbooks, assignments, and course work. Due to different workloads at different places, varied timetables, or case opportunities, few applicants may take longer than others to complete the program.
